How does Vacation Pretty work?

Vacation Pretty is a service that offers rentals of hair straighteners and curling irons for when you're traveling abroad. Whether you're gone for a week, or three, you can ensure your hair will look fabulous for your many adventures and the pictures that go along with a hair tool that will work abroad! 

1) Choose your hair tool product - compatible countries are listed under each product. If you’re still unsure of which plug type you need, check out this page, or email us! 

2) Select the date your hair tool rental is to arrive. We advise you to select the day before your scheduled departure. Hair straighteners / curling irons are guaranteed to arrive at your home, office or hotel by 8:00 PM on the date you select, but generally arrive prior to that date.

3) Add supplemental insurance for your hair straightener. Accidents happen! Protect your wallet by adding optional insurance to your rental. 

4) When you return from your fabulous vacation (with amazing pictures!), simply return your hair straightener or curling iron rental for free using the provided packaging and pre-paid shipping label. Styling tools must be dropped off at the nearest UPS or USPS site by 12 noon on your flat iron rental return date. (All hairstyling tools must be returned from the US)

All orders local to the Tampa, FL area are available for pick up as noted in your email, please email us with any questions. Returns can be dropped back off at the pick up location upon your return.

How do I know which hair straightener or curling iron to choose for my upcoming vacation? 

Compatible countries are listed under each product. If you’re still unsure of which plug type you need, we are happy to help via email.

Are the hair tools pictured the exact ones I will receive?

The pictures on our website are representative of the type of tool you are renting - hair straightener, curling iron, or other. They are not exact pictures of the tool you will receive due to having different brands and options available for different countries. We strive to ensure tools are in good, working condition and of the highest quality available. We are constantly renewing inventory due to damage and demand so specifics on tools change regularly.

We guarantee the type of plug and style of tool for the country indicated in your rental.

How do I know it's okay to input my credit card information?

Vacation Pretty utilizes Swipe for all payment processing.  Swipe meets the most stringent PCI compliance standards.

What if I don't see the country I'm visiting listed anywhere? Do you still have my hair straightener rental? 

If you don't currently see the country you're visiting listed under one of our rental listings, please email us to confirm availability and compatibility. 

Are these hair tools used? What's the deal with sanitation? 

All of our hairstyling tools are sanitized between rentals in the same way your hairstylist or local salon would sanitize between clients. In order to provide our clients with the best possible salon quality hair straighteners for their vacations, we take care to carefully inspect, clean and sanitize every hair tool between rentals. 

Oops! What if I damage my hair straightener during my rental?

Accidents happen, we understand that. We offer affordable, optional insurance for each rental which covers minor damages, nicks and scratches. Major damage and loss of the flat iron are not covered by insurance.

If the hairstyling tool is damaged beyond repair, the credit card on file will be charged for the retail value of the hair straightener. If the flat iron is not returned, the credit card on file will be charged for twice the retail value of the hairstyling tool. 

What if I need to cancel?

We are happy to cancel and refund rentals when a request is received at least one week prior to the selected delivery date, and prior to the items being shipped. Your rental holds an item for you, so others may miss out. The sooner you know you won’t need it, the better.

Deliveries are batched and may arrive earlier than selected. Orders delivered, and shipping costs, cannot be refunded.

What if my flat iron or curling iron rental does not arrive in time for my departure? 

In the unlikely event that your hair straightener rental does not arrive by 8:00 PM on the date promised, your money will be refunded. All shipments are tracked via UPS or USPS depending on the shipping method used and you will receive a tracking number when your rental is in the mail. The rental flat iron must still be dropped at the appropriate UPS or USPS site by noon on the rental return date. 

How long can I rent a hair straightener for? 

We offer rental periods of 7, 10, 14 and 21 days for flat irons. The day you select for your rental hair straightener to arrive is day 1 (if your rental flat iron arrives early, lucky you!). Your rental will always begin on the date you request for arrival, no earlier, so rest assured your rental period will not be cut short if you receive your flat iron early. Your rental flat iron is due to be dropped off or picked up by UPS or USPS (depending on the shipping method used) by noon the day after your rental period ends. For example, for a seven day rental, you would receive your hair straightener no later than 8:00 PM on day 1 and you would return your rental hair straightener via UPS/USPS by noon on day 8. 

Don't worry, every rental comes with a confirmation email detailing your selected flat iron rental start date, your hair straightener rental period and the date your hairstyling tool is to be returned. 

When should I schedule my flat iron rental? 

As soon as you plan your next amazing vacation! You can schedule a rental period for any hair straightener we offer up to one year (365 days) in advance to guarantee availability. Remember to schedule your flat iron to arrive the day before your departure! 

We offer next-day delivery to most of the US based on product availability. If we have a rental hairstyling tool available, we can get it to you if your order is placed by noon the day before you would like your rental hair straightener to arrive. 

Unfortunately, we do sell out of certain rental flat irons and curling irons during busy vacation times. Process your rental as early as possible to ensure availability for your next vacation (and amazing hair for all of your pictures!). 

Can I make changes to my hair tool rental?

Once you have processed your order, you can make changes until your rental hair tool ships. (You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking number once your hairstyling tool ships)

What time will my flat iron rental arrive? 

Deliveries are made between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday - Saturday. There are no Sunday deliveries, if you chose Sunday as your delivery date, your hair straightener rental will arrive no later than the Saturday before your delivery date, by 8:00 PM. 

Tampa, FL pick up is available Sunday - Saturday at the address in the confirmation.

Last minute local rentals can frequently be accommodated. Please email us for last minute requests.

Do you ship internationally? 

At this point in time, Vacation Pretty is only able to ship hair straightener rentals to US addresses, including Alaska and Hawaii. All hairstyling tools must by returned from the US. 

Does Vacation Pretty deliver to P.O. Boxes? 

We do not. To ensure an on-time delivery of your hair straightener rental, please enter a valid US home, office or hotel address. 

What happens if I don't return my rental flat iron by noon the day after my rental period? 

Vacation Pretty has the goal to provide you with a great experience when you rent our salon quality hairstyling tools for all of your incredible vacations. In order to provide all of our customers with the best possible experience, we need all rentals returned by the date promised so they can be sanitized and sent on the next amazing vacation. The next vacationer is anxiously awaiting their delivery to ensure amazing hair and pictures, you'd hate to be "that person" that doesn't return on time, right?

Late fees are $25 per day late on rental returns for the first 10 days the straightener is late. After 10 days, we will assume the flat iron is lost or not being returned and your card will be charged for the full cost of 10 days worth of late fees in addition to rental fees.

What if I lose the return packaging for my hair straightener rental?

If you lose the packaging and mailing label provided by Vacation Pretty to return your hairstyling tool, your rental is still due in the mail by noon on the day after your rental period. You will be responsible for shipping the rental flat iron back at your expense and providing Vacation Pretty with the tracking number by sending it to Info@VacationPretty.com.
